Shipping Policy

At The Tailor Fishing Rod Shop, we aim to get your fishing gear to you quickly and safely. This Shipping Policy outlines our shipping practices, costs, timeframes, and what to expect. It complements our Return and Refund Policy and Terms of Service.

Where We Ship We ship Australia-wide to most residential, business, and PO Box addresses. We do not currently offer international shipping. If you're outside Australia and interested, contact us at sales@tailorfishingrods.com.au to discuss options.

Order Processing Times

Orders are processed Monday to Friday (excluding Queensland public holidays).
Most orders are picked, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1–2 business days after payment is cleared and verified.
Custom or personalised rods (e.g., built-to-order) may take longer — we'll confirm the estimated timeframe when you place your order.

Shipping Methods and Estimated Delivery Times We use reliable Australian carriers (e.g., Australia Post, Sendle, or specialist couriers for bulky items) to deliver your order. Delivery times are estimates only and start from the date we hand the package to the carrier.

Standard Shipping (most orders under 3kg): 3–7 business days Australia-wide (metro areas often faster; regional/remote may take longer).
Express Shipping (optional upgrade at checkout): 1–4 business days (availability depends on carrier and location).
Bulky/Oversized Items (e.g., longer rods over 120cm, certain tackle bundles): May require specialist freight; additional fees apply and delivery may take 5–10 business days. We'll notify you of any extra costs before processing.

These are estimates based on typical carrier performance. Actual delivery can vary due to location, weather, peak periods (e.g., holidays), public holidays, or unforeseen events.

Shipping Costs

Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on order weight, dimensions, destination, and selected method.
Free standard shipping may apply on orders over a certain value (e.g., $150+ — check current promotions at checkout).
Express or bulky item upgrades incur extra fees (displayed before you confirm).
All prices are in AUD and include GST where applicable. We do not charge hidden fees.

Tracking Your Order Once shipped, you'll receive a tracking number via email (or check your account on our site). Track your package directly with the carrier for real-time updates.

Risk of Loss and Title Title (ownership) and risk of loss pass to you when we hand the goods to the carrier. We pack items securely, but once in transit, the carrier is responsible for safe delivery.

Damaged, Lost, or Delayed Shipments

Inspect on arrival: Check your package immediately. If items are damaged, missing, or incorrect, contact us as soon as possible (ideally within 7 days) at sales@tailorfishingrods.com.au with photos and your order number.
Under the Australian Consumer Law, you have rights if goods arrive faulty or not as described — we handle remedies (repair, replacement, or refund) as required.
For transit damage/loss: We are generally responsible until delivery (per ACL), but we may need to liaise with the carrier. If you selected optional transit insurance at checkout and paid the fee, we'll assist with claims. Without insurance, coverage for carrier-caused issues may be limited — contact us to discuss.
Delays: We aim for reasonable delivery times under ACL. If a significant delay occurs (beyond what was reasonably expected), contact us — we may offer remedies where appropriate.

Important Notes

We cannot guarantee exact delivery dates or times.
Some remote areas (e.g., certain QLD regions) may have longer times or restrictions — rates reflect this.
Prohibited/restricted items: We comply with carrier and Australian regulations (no hazardous materials).
